LET THERE BE ROCK! EXHIBITION CATALOGUE

This particular piece was a finalist in the 2019 Museum Australasia Multimedia and Publication Design Awards.

The rock ‘n’ roll nostalgic exhibition Let there be Rock! at HOTA, Home of the Arts, celebrated music from the 70s to 90s, when the Gold Coast was a hot-spot of Australia’s live music touring circuit. From The Ramones and Cold Chisel at The Playroom, to INXS and The Go-Betweens at Bombay Rock; and Nirvana and The Violent Femmes at ‘Fisho’s’; this exhibition celebrated the heyday of hard-core rock and entertainment through stories, memorabilia, photos and footage. Alongside the exhibition there was a program of events celebrating all things rock ‘n’ roll.

The exhibition catalogue featured here is just one of a suite of pieces created for the exhibition.

CREATIVE LEARNING PROGRAM

Students experience the arts in through immersive and exciting learning experiences where their ideas are encouraged and valued. The Arts Centre Gold Coasts’ inquiry-based approach provokes curiosity, inspires the imagination, and opens doors to new ways of thinking about the world.

This has been reflected in the design of the Creative Learning Program.

COMING INTO FASHION
A CENTURY OF PHOTOGRAPHY AT CONDE NAST

Fashion photography has gripped us for over 100 years. Many of the legends like Mario Testino, Deborah Turbeville, and Helmut Newton achieved their greatness at the Condé Nast studios in New York, Paris, and London. With unprecedented access to the archives of each city, Coming into Fashion was an exhibition tracking the highlights of this sparkling intersection between photography and fashion.

A curation of seminal fashion films and documentaries also screened throughout the exhibition, and over two days of talks and forums, guests heard international and Australian industry leaders discuss the past, present, and future of the world of fashion.

The exhibition catalogue was created as a broadsheet publication, and was part of a suite of collateral used to promote the exhibition and events.
